After spending many years teaching others to
develop their artistic talents, Donna Arnold has recently begun focusing on her own artistic expression. She delights in the endless beauty of the landscape, everchanging light and color.
Donna finds the best thing about the process of art making is that she will never have all the answers. Each fresh sheet of paper is a new mystery to be solved in the attempt to reach a new level of expression and, hopefully, beauty.
Donna has work in collections in Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas.
Original Artwork
My favorite mediums are watercolor, acrylic and mixed media. I find that experimenting with all three at different times, feeds creativity to the others. It is a way I have found to stay fresh and often prompted by a new class I will be teaching. Most of my work is based on personal reactions to either environment or materials. Art is available as originals, prints or sets of cards.
Teaching Workshops & Classes
I have been an art teacher since 1982, originally at the high school level, now working with adults. I currently teach classes in beginning drawing, beginning and intermediate watercolor , acrylic and also experimental watercolor techniques. It is always a joy to see a student's reaction to their first mastery of a new technique or idea. I think enjoyment of art and art processes is meant to be shared. It enriches not only the student, but the teacher as well. Information about scheduling classes can be obtained by contacting me via the contact page.
